I stopped by to see Mal at his charming shop Top Secret Magic. I have walked through that door many times but not noticed the hand painted sign for the building. I felt like Jack walking into his house after he met the giant.

There are a few reasons I love Mals shop. But what I notice today is it’s in The House that Jack Built. Jack is a fairy tale character in a magical story so what better place to have a magic shop than in Jack’s house!

Some of the other businesses in the building are a bit alternative and there are some kitchy landscaped water features. Mals shop is a cupboard like shop packed with curiosities, jokes magic tricks and other stuff.

Another reason that sign has me remembering it is that being in the creative industry I’ve spent some time learning to sign write and started painting my own show signs to attach to my case.

It’s cool how you seem to notice things along your way that either by coincidence or fate seem to guide your imagination.

Just remember seeing signs is easy choosing which way to go and stay on the path takes courage.
